About St. Rita of Cascia
St. Rita of Cascia lived a life marked by hardship, loss, and extraordinary faith. Born in 14th-century Italy, she endured a difficult marriage, the tragic death of her husband, and the loss of her sons. Rather than responding with bitterness, Rita chose forgiveness and prayer, trusting that God’s mercy could bring peace even in the most painful circumstances.
Eventually entering the Augustinian convent in Cascia, she devoted the rest of her life to prayer and service. Today she is known as the patron saint of impossible causes, a reminder that God’s grace can bring hope even when situations seem beyond human solutions.
