St. Mark Ji Tianxiang was a Chinese Catholic physician, husband, father, and martyr who lived during the nineteenth century. Though he endured years of personal struggle and spiritual hardship, he remained devoted to Christ and never abandoned his faith. His perseverance, humility, and trust in God’s mercy continue to inspire believers throughout the world. During the Boxer Rebellion, he courageously refused to renounce Christ and ultimately gave his life as a witness to the Gospel. His story reminds us that holiness is not found in perfection but in faithfully turning toward God each day.
