Quote: “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me will never hunger.”
Reflection: At the center of Tarcisius’s story is his profound reverence for the Eucharist. He understood that what he carried was not something ordinary, but Christ Himself. The same Jesus comes to us in Holy Communion and invites us into deeper union with Him. Familiarity can sometimes cause us to overlook the greatness of this gift. Tarcisius reminds us to approach the Eucharist with renewed wonder, recognizing the extraordinary love of Christ who chooses to remain so close to us.
Prayer: St. Tarcisius, deepen my love for Jesus in the Eucharist. Help me receive Him with gratitude, faith, and reverence. Amen.
About St. Tarcisius
St. Tarcisius was a young Christian martyr who lived in third-century Rome during a time of persecution. According to ancient tradition, he was entrusted with carrying the Eucharist to fellow Christians. When confronted and attacked, he refused to surrender the Blessed Sacrament and died from his injuries rather than allow it to be profaned. His courageous witness has made him an enduring example of Eucharistic devotion, and he is honored especially as a patron of altar servers and young Catholics.
