Reflection: The Eucharist stood at the heart of Carlo’s spiritual life. He recognized in Holy Communion far more than a religious custom: the real presence of Jesus Christ and an invitation to intimacy with Him. Carlo’s description of the Eucharist as his “highway to heaven” reveals the depth of his faith. His journey toward heaven was already taking place through his relationship with Christ. St. Carlo Acutis was an Italian teenager whose joyful faith and love for the Eucharist have inspired people around the world. Growing up with computers, school, friendships, and ordinary interests, Carlo showed that holiness is possible in modern everyday life. He used his technological abilities to help share information about Eucharistic miracles and sought to remain close to Jesus through prayer, Mass, Eucharistic adoration, and service to others. His short life continues to remind Christians that sainthood begins by placing Christ at the center of who we are and how we live.
