About St. Marianne Cope

St. Marianne Cope (1838–1918) was a Franciscan sister who dedicated her life to caring for those suffering from leprosy in Hawaii. When few were willing to go, she and her sisters volunteered joyfully, bringing cleanliness, order, and beauty to the settlement of Molokai. Known for her serenity and courage, she continued the mission of St. Damien after his death, transforming hardship into peace and despair into dignity.

Her legacy endures as a witness that love, lived humbly and faithfully, can turn even the darkest places into havens of grace.
