About St. Mark the Evangelist
St. Mark, also known as John Mark, was an early Christian missionary and the traditional author of the Gospel bearing his name. A companion of St. Peter, Paul, and Barnabas, he played an important role in spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ. Although his missionary journey included difficulties and setbacks, Mark became a valued servant of the early Church. Christian tradition also associates him with founding the Church in Alexandria, Egypt. His Gospel reveals Jesus through vivid accounts of His miracles, compassion, suffering, and Resurrection, inspiring generations to follow Christ with courage and faith.
