About St. Maximilian Kolbe
St. Maximilian Kolbe was a Franciscan priest, missionary, publisher, and martyr whose life was marked by profound faith and devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary. He founded the Militia Immaculatae, a movement dedicated to leading souls closer to Christ through Mary, and spent his life sharing the Gospel through prayer, evangelization, and service. During World War II, he was imprisoned at Auschwitz, where he freely offered his life in place of another prisoner. His heroic sacrifice became a powerful witness to Christian charity and the victory of love over hatred. Today, he remains an enduring example of courage, faith, and selfless love.
